Quranic recitation is the Islamic vocal idiom par excellence; it frames the religious rituals, and is performed formally in the mosque and informally at home or in a gathering by professional reciters during Ramadan. The following clips are two informal examples of the Quranic recitation:

The "Blind Qari" as he's affectionately known to Afghans, or Qari Barakatullah Salim's beautiful recitation of Quran during a Ramadan night gathering of Afghan Community in Holland:
