Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary in Rumi's Poetry

The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ

Virgin Mary, whose soul was shredded into pieces
by the anxieties over her immaculate conception,
became pregnant with the charming Christ.

A Christ who doesn't belong to the earth or the sea,
a  Christ who transcends the boundaries of both worlds.

Just as the immaculate soul of Virgin Mary
became pregnant by the Soul of all souls (God),
this whole world shall also get impregnated
like the Immaculate Mary's divinely blessed soul.

This world shall give birth to a whole new world.
A beautiful new world that will cause huge uproars
until the Day of Judgment.
Rumi

Word Became Flesh in Virgin Mary’s Womb by Power of Holy Spirit

I envisioned the womb of Virgin Mary
as the universe completely engulfed by raging fires.
Searching deeper through burning flames,
I discovered a whole new world.
Bit by bit and step by step,
as I finally made my way
to the very heart of those raging fires,
I looked....and looked...and kept looking...
then I saw my sweet-breathed Jesus.
Rumi

من جهانرا ديدم چون رحم مريم كنون
چون در اين آتش بديدم در سكون
اندرين آتش بديدم عالمي
  ذره ذره اندرو عيسي دمي

Saint Elizabeth's Joyous Confessions To Virgin Mary
From Rumi's Masnavi - Book # 2, Story of John the Baptist (peace be upon him) still inside his mother's womb bowing down to Jesus (peace be upon him)

The pregnant mother of John the Baptist (Elizabeth)*
excitedly confided to Virgin Mary
the most incredible experience of her pregnancy:
" O Mary, I believe without any doubt
the child you're carrying inside your womb,
is a King.
He is a righteous messiah and messenger of Lord.
O Mary, when I was standing next to you,
I felt the son I'm carrying inside (John the Baptist)
bowing down to your unborn child (Jesus).
John leaped for joy and bowed down
with such passion and fervor,
that my whole body is still aching."
"I know my dear Elizabeth,
I already know who he really is.
Deep inside my womb,
I also felt your baby (John the Baptist)
prostrating himself before my beautiful baby Jesus," Mary said.
Rumi

*Saint Elizabeth (Alisabeth or Ishba for Muslims - حضرت ايشباع  يا اليصابات) and Virgin Mary (Maryam Muqaddas or Maryam Bakra for Muslims- يا مریم مقدس  حضرت مریم باکره ) were cousins. John the Baptist (Yahya for Muslims -حضرت یحیی) and Jesus Christ (Issa Masih for Muslims - حضرت عيسي مسيح) grew up together as very close second cousins and friends. Rumi's above poetic story is known within the Biblical and Christian teachings as 'Mary Visits Elizabeth' in the Holy Bible - New Testament: Luke 1:39-56.

Jesus is The Reason for the Season

Jesus is The Reason for the Season,
Christmas is Christ's Holy Season.
During this Season [Christmas],
People tend to be nicer to each other;
they smile more and act a lot less rude!

Baby Jesus was Restless in His Crib

My soul is restless inside the crib of my body
like baby Jesus inside his cradle.
Where is Mary, mother of Jesus
to tie up my soul child to my crib?

The Smiling Jesus

I'm the beautifully smiling Jesus,
the whole world shall come back to life when I return.

who carried baby Jesus in her womb.
