Sufi Rumi (1207-1273) is Persian Sufi Poet. Rumi’s Sufi teaching Does not differ from the Mahāyāna Buddhism. His Sufi Poems mirror his right understanding and right thought of Islamic spirituality. Sufism is the heart of Islam. Understanding Sufism, Buddhists will gain a better and more profound interfaith understanding between Buddhism and Sufism. Rumi said, “God is the ground as well the goal of all existence.”It was indeed well said. Comparatively, Emptiness or Buddha-nature is the ground as well as the goal of all existence. Understanding one’s own religion does not suffice. We need to understanding the faiths of others to avoid misunderstanding, hostility and hatred.
